Lower School
Grades K - 5
A Christ Centered Environment Where Your Child's Innocent Faith & Academics are Nurtured.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grades participate in a strong Christ-centered education designed to help them grow in all areas of life: academically, spiritually, physically, socially, and emotionally. Faculty and staff nurture, guide, and teach students through a Biblical worldview so that they can live a life pointing others to Christ, serve others in the community, and ultimately make a positive impact for Christ to those around them.
Mrs. Michelle Scott is a graduate of the Christian School of York and currently serves as the Lower School (K-5) Principal at CSY. Mrs. Scott graduated from Lancaster Bible College with bachelor's degrees in Bible and in elementary education. This year marks Mrs. Scott's 16th year working at CSY and 19 years in the field of education, with years of teaching in 5th grade, Kindergarten, and 3rd grade.
Mrs. Scott's favorite verse is Ephesians 3:20, which says "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."
Mrs. Scott and her husband, Kevin, are the proud parents of 2 children, a daughter and a son. As a family they enjoy taking walks, playing games together, and being involved in their kids' sports and activities. The Scotts attend Church of the Open Door in Shiloh, PA

"Our instructional support teachers work with students in a pull-out intervention model, push-in support model, providing teachers the support they need to accommodate diverse learners."
The Student Services Center (SSC) at Christian School of York provides additional walks alongside students and families to grow students to their God-given potential.
Our instructional support teachers work with students in a pull-out intervention model, push-in support model, or on a consultative basis (providing teachers the support they need to accommodate diverse learners). Instructional supports needed are determined in a variety of ways: formal evaluations, CSY benchmark assessments, and teacher/parental concern.
Our guidance counselor is available to meet with students 1:1, support families as they seek the next steps for their upper school students (college/career planning), and provide whole-class lessons as requested by classroom teachers. Through our guidance counselor, we strive to support the whole-child: socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
LIU Services: Through Act 48, students may qualify to receive reading and/or math support from Lincoln Intermediate Unit specialists. A part time LIU guidance counselor is also provided to assist with our growing student population.
